Vendor Spotlight: Kate Jones Studios
There are some things in life that are fleeting. They may be ours temporarily, but they fade away, like our college funds, our young-looking skin, or our favorite skinny jeans.
But one thing that is always ours to take with us is our memories. Our memories are cemented in our minds, and no one can take those away from us. Photographers have a coveted talent to take a live image and turn it into a life-long momento, to capture moments in pictures in order to always remember them. Kate Jones has successfully done this and continues to make it her mission.
Kate Jones Studios is in the business of making images last a lifetime. Jones was able to tell Empire Productions a little bit more about what she believes in and why she has dedicated her life to capturing other people's beautiful stories.
1. How long have you been in business?
I have been in business since 2007.
2. How many people are part of your team?
So far, just me, and my husband as an occasional second shooter.
3. What is the average price range of your products/services?
Portrait sessions range from $150-550
Weddings range from $1,500-$3,500
4. Can you tell us a little about your company's background?
I started my business in college, working also as a portrait photographer for another company. It was a “hobby job” for several years before I finally took the leap to full-time in September 2013.
5. What sets you apart from other businesses in your industry?
Definitely my personality and classic photography editing and shooting style. I aim to create something that will last a lifetime, which is the true reason for photography — capturing moments in time to last for eternity. I am fun, love to laugh, and get to know my clients as if they were my best friends. It is truly an experience.
6. Any particular topic you would like to focus on?
I have added a new wedding collection to my business: destination weddings. I am available to travel worldwide for a bride and groom to be married anywhere in the world. Not only do I photograph the wedding at the destination of the couple’s choice, but I include an engagement session, a couple’s session at the destination, the wedding ceremony itself, as well as the reception at home. It is a full coverage collection that has been so much fun to see through!
7. What is your primary goal when serving your customers?
Creating art that is featured in client’s homes. All too often, we are seeing clients who get their images in digital form and they remain forever on the computer. When you make the investment into portrait photography for your family, you want images you can proudly display in your home. It is so important to get those images printed!!
