1. How did you two meet?
We met through a mutual friend. Craig came to Vermillion to see a high school friend, Michael. My friends and I normally hung out at Michael's house and that night was no different. When I came down the stairs, Craig texted Michael "the girl in polka dots single?" We hit it off right away, and the rest is pretty much history.
2. If you could go back and change one thing about your wedding day, what would it be?
Honestly, nothing! Just knowing that this day marks the first day of forever with the love of your life makes everything perfect!
3. What advice do you have for other couples getting married?
Everyone says this and you hear it a million times throughout your engagement, but seriously don't sweat the small stuff!!! The whole day flies by so quickly you don't even notice if the centerpieces were perfect or not. Try to live in the moment and soak it all in because looking back it literally feels like the whole day takes 5 minutes.
4. What is one thing you wish you had known before you got married?
I don't think we really have an answer for this one....
5. Can you briefly sum up how the wedding day went?
The girls all got ready at my parents house. A little later, the boys got ready at the hotel. We had a gorgeous day, so Craig and I did our first look at a lake in town and took some pictures on our own. A little later our wedding party met us at the lake for pictures. After we were done, we went back to the church to take more formal pictures, eat, and relax. Close to wedding time, the ushers and Craig went out to greet the guests. Our two grandmas were the candle lighters, so they kicked off the ceremony. After the wedding, our wedding party rode around for a bit to let the guests get to the reception and have refreshments. Once we arrived at the reception, we ate and shortly after we had cake balls and speeches. Once we did the special dances, the dance started!
6. Was there anything unexpected or surprising that happened on your wedding day?
Not really surprising, but the feeling you get when you look out and see all those people there is indescribable. It's really special!
7. What was the highlight of your special day?
Spending the perfect day with all our closest friends and family celebrating our love for one another.
